Overall: 3.9 out of 5
The Wyze Video Doorbell has solid ratings, they are not as high overall as the ring doorbell, but we think the main reason for this is because it is somewhat complex to install this if you are not used to setting up Wi-Fi.
We will explore this further down in the review, the ratings are still very high, and they are just outside the 4.0 Mark. This is also one of the bestselling items so we think it is a new release as it only has 13 global ratings, so as more reviews come in, we have no doubt that this will become more popular.
As it stands now it has very good feedback and is currently on the bestselling list.

There was one reviewer that gave these 5 stars that mentioned installation was very simple, so although this is not directly rated in terms of the features, we don’t think you will have any problems with setting this up. The way they did it was to load up a YouTube video and they also mentioned that there are pretty clear instructions from within the app.
If in doubt we highly recommend doing exactly as they did in going to YouTube, just make sure that if you are going to use YouTube to install the product make sure that you have the right product installation.
They also mentioned that the camera works great, they hadn’t had the time to test the audio, but they also mentioned that they did not buy for the audio feature. The reason they purchased this camera was to see who is stealing their deliveries!
Amusingly, the review also mentioned that they enjoy being able to see their son make interesting hand signs to the camera when they come home from work. This is to be expected if you have children and they are looking for a bit of fun.
They also mentioned that the door chime works very well, the camera alerts work well, and it will alert you every time someone comes to the door, they mentioned that they had an Amazon delivery and were alerted immediately.
Overall, they were very pleased and gave it a five-star feedback.
What we wanted to do on this review is also give you some feedback from one star review, this is just as important as a five-star review because you will be able to see what happens if people are not happy with their purchase.
They mentioned that they installed the doorbell, the camera works fine but they had problems being able to watch the recorded events from the cloud. They then started to work through the troubleshooting was support and it seems that they didn’t complete the tasks fast enough, so they ended up closing their ticket without solving the problem. While they were following the troubleshooting steps and reinstalling the camera, they mentioned that this required them to unmount and reset it the colours distorted on the camera, this led to them just throwing the camera out.
Of course, you can go through to Amazon.com and read the reviews yourself, however it does show that a lot of the problem here was with the setup with the cloud system. We highly recommend if you do not want to have any problems with this doorbell to get someone that is well versed in Wi-Fi and cloud systems as well as apps, basically someone that can use a cell phone to install the app and set everything up for you if you are going to have difficulty. If you do that then we don’t envision that you will have much of a problem.

The other great thing about this product is that the cloud storage is free for 14 days, this means that if you want to be able to save the videos you do need to get in there before the 14-day time limit. It means that you are able to load up all of the videos that you want to safeguard, as we looked at above just make sure that when you are setting this up on the app you have someone that knows how to use technology and you will be sure that this will be set up correctly.
The other feature that we really like with the Wyze Video Doorbell is the fact that this is fully weather resistant IP 65, this means that you can install this as your doorbell, and you do not have to worry about any adverse weather conditions or interference from the elements. The IP 65 rating means that this protects the doorbell from rain, snow and the sun.
You also have an optional upgrade that is not required but it will allow you to get Cap Plus, this is priced at $1.99 a month and it will ensure that you are able to receive real-time alerts when people are detected and also store full-length videos in the cloud for 14 days. The main difference between this is that you will get real-time alerts when people are detected, there is no delay on this, so we recommend going for the upgrade for this feature only. The other thing is when you are using the cloud to store all of your videos now you will be able to store the entire length of the video instead of a few second clips. As this is quite cheap, we recommend it, it should really be included as a feature in our opinion but if you want to be able to use this doorbell and have access to all of the features that we think should be there already you would need to upgrade and pay the subscription.
The chimes that you get with this doorbell a very good and you will be able to hear your doorbell ring, chirp or bark from any room. You can also pair any number of chimes with your doorbell so every room in your house is ready to alert you when someone is at the door, this means that there is no end to the amount of customisation that you have when you are looking to use the chimes.
You will also find that one chime is included with each Wyze Video Doorbell.

Aspect Ratio:
The standout feature of the Wyze Video Doorbell is the 3:4 aspect ratio and also the 1080p full HD video. This means that you are getting something that will allow you to see everything that you need to and the full length of someone, this is handy because you can see exactly which parcel, they are delivering or indeed if they have come to try and get some of your parcels, they will be caught red-handed.
Two-way audio:
Another feature that is very handy with the Wyze Video Doorbell is the fact that you will get a two-way audio system and when someone approaches your door you can just open up the app to begin talking, this allows you to have a conversation and it also means that you will never have to worry about missing a parcel delivery again.
Small and Compact:
You will also find that the Wyze Video Doorbell is small and compact, this is where size really does matter because you will not want to have a massive doorbell that takes up half of the door frame. This will give you something that is very simple to use and as it is smaller compact you will be able to start using the straightaway and it will not become an eyesore.

This is a fantastic feature because if it did not have this then there would be little point in buying the doorbell as it would just break as soon as you got some snow, rain or direct sunlight. As you know it is IP 65 weather condition certified which means that it should last.
Verdict:
The Wyze Video Doorbell gives you everything that you need in terms of the security solution, you should not have any issues with it, and you will be able to use this to keep an eye on your home and also exactly who is coming to the door. The other thing that we recommend is that you go for the warranty, just in case it does break then you don’t have to worry, and you will have peace of mind.
When you look at the price of the warranty it is relatively cheap to pick up and you will be able to use this without any worries.
The other thing that we recommend is to look at the frequently bought together deals, we also recommend going for the monthly plan although we do think that some of these features should be in with the product the only way that you can get them is to go for a very cheap monthly plan. This is exactly the same with Ring except the former will actually cost you more money so if you are going to be paying a subscription anyway, we recommend going for this one.
