As you can see you will get a wide range of features and functionality with the Ring Floodlight Camera, in fact you will find that since this is a floodlight camera and it actually has a siren system as well it is probably the most advanced camera that we have had a look at on the site from the ring range.
As with all of these cameras we recommend connecting to Alexa and that will allow you to enable announcements to be alerted when motion is detected. You can also talk to visitors through compatible Echo devices by giving certain commands that will allow you to do this. This will also allow you to see, hear and speak to visitors from your phone, your tablet or your PC.
This means that you will have some flexibility and whichever device you are using you will be able to speak to visitors and also check your updates the way you want to without have to be limited to just your smart phone or your tablet. For instance, if you are on the PC a lot and it makes sense to be able to check everything from your PC then you will be able to.
Another feature that you get that we highly recommend that you subscribe to is the Ring protect plan, unfortunately this is sold separately but it does allow you to record all of your videos and also review what you have missed for up to 60 days as well sharing videos and photos if you need to. The downside is that if you do not subscribe to the service then you will be unable to do that, so you essentially end up with just a live camera with some added features.
When the camera is mounted at 9 feet off of the ground with the motion detector parallel to the ground the motion sensors optimised to detect human sized objects at up to 30 feet. This is something worth bearing in mind because you will want to make sure that you have this set up correctly to be able to get the most accurate footage and alerts.
This does also require hardwired installation into a weatherproof electrical box, the reason for this is that it will give you a 1080p HD camera and it will also have a siren on it, but it does require a proper installation as it is fully weatherproof.
What you get as the end result is the ability to monitor your home in 1080 HD video with an infrared night vision and also a life of view as well which gives you built-in ultrabright floodlights and a siren.

Protect Plan:
The protect plan gives you added functionality and we really think that you do need this. Using the protect plan you will be able to see, say and also share videos and photos when you activate the video recording and photo capture for $3 a month. We highly recommend if you’re going to have a few ring devices working for you that you go for the $10 per month option, this does cost more but it allows you to have multiple ring devices and then you can simply use that subscription for all of your devices to work together.
Dashboard:
The other really cool thing about the Ring Floodlight Camera and your other ring devices is that they will all link to the control centre and that allows you to add or remove authorised client devices. Also be able to control everything direct using the dashboard so you can see multiple video feeds if you have more than one camera setup.

The main feature that you will not find anywhere else is the ability for the floodlight LED lights. This will shine 2 very bright lights whenever you need them and you also have the ability to switch them off as well.
